Enterprise Grade SCS Solutions

High Quality Premium solutions for SCS

Cabling solutions are fundamental to any infrastructure projects. From being a network of nerves that makes an infrastructure project – be it a residential building or large scale enterprise office – come alive, cabling is a hugely important part of modern infrastructure.

With ExTell Structured Cabling systems, clients are looking at an organized cabling system that uses Patch Panels, Distribution Frames, Racks and high quality Horizontal/Vertical Cable management systems to create a standard, scalable infrastructure. With easy troubleshooting and maintenance, longer lifecycle and compliance to international standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC), ExTell solutions stand apart from the various offerings in the market.

The 7 standard subsystems of a structured Cabling system is as briefly mentioned below:

  1. Entrance Facility (EF)
    • The point where the external service provider’s cabling (ISP, telco) enters the building.
    • Includes: demarcation point, cables, connecting hardware, surge protection.

  1. Equipment Room (ER)
  • A centralized space that houses main networking equipment (servers, core switches, PBX, UPS).
  • Connects to backbone cabling for building-wide distribution.

  1. Backbone Cabling (Vertical Cabling)
  • Provides interconnection between entrance facilities, equipment rooms, and telecommunications rooms.
  • Typically uses fiber optic or high-pair-count copper cables.
  • Runs vertically between floors.

  1. Telecommunications Room/Enclosure (TR/TE)
  • Houses cross-connects, patch panels, and network switches for each floor or zone.
  • Connects backbone cabling to horizontal cabling.

  1. Horizontal Cabling
  • Runs from the telecom room to individual work areas on the same floor.
  • Usually limited to 90 meters of cable + 10 meters for patch cords(TIA/EIA standard).
  • Typically Category 6/6A copper or fiber.

  1. Work Area (WA)
  • The space where end devices (PCs, phones, printers, IoT devices) connect to the structured cabling system.
  • Includes: outlets, patch cords, adapters.

  1. Cabling & Connecting Hardware
  • Patch Panels:provide organized termination points in telecom rooms/equipment rooms.
  • Patch Cords & Jumpers:flexible cables connecting patch panels to switches or outlets to devices.
  • Racks & Cable Management:to keep everything neat and standards-compliant.
